Yes, the Lyric is a medical device classified as Class 2a under CE standards and Class 1 under FDA regulations. The CE certification indicates that it has successfully completed a clinical evaluation and met all conformity assessment requirements under the Medical Devices Directive (MDD).
The Lyric hearing aid is a subscription-only device costing $175 to $210 per month, per ear. The price depends on your subscription length—the longer the plan, the more you save.
This fee covers the fitting and follow-up appointments to ensure the best hearing outcome for you.
This is because the Lyric is an extended wear hearing aid and the internal battery will run out over time.
Each device lasts several months and requires professional replacement and servicing included in the subscription.
This approach guarantees ongoing support, care, and access to the latest technology while providing predictable costs for users.
No, you need to visit a Lyric-certified practice like Ears Truly Audiology for any fitting, service or adjustments.
Each Lyric device lasts for months, as battery life varies based on individual ear conditions. Your subscription plan will cover the replacement cost for that given time period.
Yes, you can turn off, turn up or down the volume using a special Lyric tool
Book a Trial & Demonstration appointment to assess if the Lyric is right for your ears and needs. You get to trial them for up to 30 days to make sure you are happy with the sound and fit. During the trial period, there will be a few follow up appointments to monitor your progress and to address any concerns.
Note: As part of the candidacy process, a full hearing test is required and if you had a recent test done, please bring it along with you.
If you haven't had a hearing test done recently, you can do it with us on the same day for $150.
Every ear is unique and our candidacy check will give you more information and clarity on whether the Lyric will fit your needs.
We look at factors such as ear health, size and shape of ear canal, level of hearing loss and much more.
Not at all. It is inserted and programmed by our trained Lyric specialist in the clinic and does not need any anaesthesia.
The fitting process is relatively quick and painless and you will also be given a tool to remove it yourself at home if you feel any discomfort.
There should not be any pain whilst wearing the Lyric.
However, during the adaptation period in the first 2 weeks after fitting, most clients report of mild awareness of the feeling of the device in their ears which should settle on its own.
You will have a few follow up appointments during the trial for the clinician to look in your ears and to monitor your progress.
Also, a Lyric removal tool will be provided should you need to remove it on your own.
Yes you can. However it is best practice to let your doctor know beforehand that you are wearing invisible hearing aids and to advise you if there will be any issues.
It must be removed for an MRI Scan but not for other scans such as X-Rays or CT Scans.
If in doubt, please contact us to check.
It is not advisable to remove any wax on your own using cotton buds, ear drops or water as it may impact the proper functioning of the clinic.
If there are any wax build up in your ear canals, please advise our Lyric specialist and they can remove them safely using micro suction techniques.
Though they also fit inside your ear canals like the Lyric, IIC (Invisible-In-Canal) or CIC (Completely-In-Canal) hearing aids are not designed to be worn 24/7 and must be removed daily.
The Lyric is also inserted deeper than IIC and CIC aids and therefore looks more discrete and invisible from the outside.
As we also fit all brands and styles of hearing devices, our clinicians will be more than happy to discuss these other options if you are interested.
